A Pause
It is time for a pause.
You guys know that this little space is all about slowing down. Living life at a sustainable pace for both us and the planet. It is about encouraging the handmade, the homegrown and the slow and simple. And so I need to be honest and tell you all I need some time away.
But lets start with the good news. If you follow me on instagram or on YouTube you will know that I am writing book. It was an amazing day in July when finally, after years and years of working towards this goal of becoming a published author, I finally signed the contract. I am writing a Christian guide to slow living and it will be published in September 2025. For someone who has dreamed of becoming an author since she was about 6 years old, this has been a milestone year. I left a job to follow my dreams and boy am I glad I took the scary jump!
But it has left me with rather a busy schedule. I was just about managing it all when the timeframe for the book suddenly got ramped up. I thought about trying to continue at a faster pace but that just isn’t me. Nor is it really possible when you have a chronic illness to manage. It would also feel rather hypocritical when my entire business is based on slow living. I truly believe a slower more simple approach to life is what we all need and so I must practise what I preach.
I will be pausing all paid subscriptions on Substack for the foreseeable future. It is the best decision for me and I hope those who have so kindly signed up to a monthly subscription will forgive and understand this need to pull back a little. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me this year. It has meant so much to me that you enjoy my words and find comfort and inspiration in them. It has helped me more then you will ever know.
So what does this actually mean? Well for one thing I am not going completely! I am still going to be writing my monthly newsletter and I might, from time to time share a little bit of writing that just needs to get out and onto the page. I will also keep you updated on the book and when you can preorder a copy! And I hope one day, I might be able to return to writing regular paid articles for you all again.
You can of course, still find me over on my YouTube channel and on my instagram.
Once again, a huge thank you to all of you who subscribe and support me over here on my Substack. It really does mean the world and I love this little community we have created. Keep taking it slow and I will chat to you all again at the end of this month in the usual newsletter!
Much love xx
